Like Pets To Go, Merrick is a family owned company: Garth Merrick, founder of Merrick Pet Care Inc., first started in the pet food business by creating prototype dog treats. Shortly after, he brought his all-natural dog treats to pet industry trade shows where he received many orders. Due to the overwhelming success of the treats, Merrick also began making dog food. Together with his wife, Susie, and their four children, they have built the company at their ranch in Hereford, Texas, near Amarillo.
